Customs Brokerage

Our network enables us to offer a wide range of opportunities to arrange import and export on FCL, LCL, and airfreight basis including regular consolidation services from Europe, USA, Far East and Middle East. The customer service department of Phoenix Logistics ensures that the client is notified prior to cargo arrival and with an On-Line EDI connection with the Bangladesh Customs House, consignments are cleared in a smooth and efficient manner.

Vessel Chartering

Phoenix Logistics’ chartering division over the time has developed contacts with many major shipowners and shipbrokers on a worldwide basis. As an active and reputed freight forwarder, we utilize a variety of methods for the safe and efficient shipping of all types of large volume commodities and materials. We handle an increasing number of cargo and enquiries and are well positioned to place heavy lift parcels on a full or part cargo charter basis.

Stevedoring

Stevedoring is a term which is derived from the word stevedore. Stevedore refers to the act of loading or offloading cargo to and/or from a ship. A person or company engaged in such act is known as a stevedore. Our stevedore foremen are experienced former chief officers and captains, arrange loading, stowage, lashing & securing of cargo on board the vessels as well as supervising discharge operations. We have the most modern processing equipment available to ensure a precise, efficient and smooth cargo handling. Our aim is to ensure that the cargo is lifted, lashed, welded and secured properly and that everyone on site are safe before, during and after an operation.

Bulk & Break Bulk

Bulk and Break Bulk are two terms that are being used incorrectly in the course of day to day business. These terms cannot be used interchangeably because there are distinctive differences between Bulk and Break Bulk in terms of cargo, nature, size, capacity, handling, trade, customers, ports, terminals, equipment, infrastructure etc. The term BULK relates to trades where dry cargoes such as Iron ore, Grain, Coal, Alumina and Phosphate are carried in loose form, (i.e. the cargo is not packed) and loaded directly in the holds of the ship. The ships that carry these bulk cargoes are known as Bulk Carriers or Bulkers and may be classified on the basis of their  Deadweight (DWT). DWT refers to the weight that a ship can safely carry – this includes the weight of the cargo on board the ship, the crew, stores, fuel, water, etc. The term BREAK BULK relates to trades where the cargoes are carried in unitized form such as palletised, bagged, strapped, bundled, drummed, crated etc. Freight rates for Break Bulk cargoes are worked out on the basis of Freight Ton or Revenue Ton which means freight is charged on the volume (CBM) or weight (MT) of the cargo whichever is higher.
